I also caught up with him after my job took me to Auckland and also bumped into him in Blenheim. We kept in contact and I was fortunate enough to make a trip to Invercargill to spend a few precious days with him in his new home before I moved overseas. Contact was lost but memories did not fade. My condolences to all his family. He was an extraordinary, fun guy who lived his younger life to the fullest. Dearly loved soulmate of 52 years of Annette. Treasured, respected, and much-loved father and father-in-law of Toni McIntyre and Brent De Bres; Glen and Paula; Leah and Brent McDowall; and James and Amy.
