Deepest sympathy to Ann and family. Shirley was the neonatal nurse when our tiny baby girl was born 45 years ago. And Bill was my teacher for three years at Waikaka. My parents Fred and Alva Inder and Shirley and Bill were great friends. Thinking of you all at this sad time

And our school days together- she was a clever diligent student and a highly regarded nurse

Such wonderful memories and compassion for the babies and families from you Shirley when working in the Neonatal Unit. Such fun we had together in the “early days”. Also Bill teaching me I wouldn’t do any harm to the computer if I turned it off-I wouldn’t lose anything!

I have never forgotten the exceptional care and advice given when Shirley led the care for our tiny babe back in 1980 and than as a colleague at Southland Hospital.

I was very sad to hear of Shirley’s passing.
She was my charge nurse in Neo natal Unit many years ago.
She was an amazing boss
And I will never forget how kind she was to us all, staff and patients.
We had some wonderful times in those days.
