In Loving Memory of Paul Christopher McQueen
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Christopher McQueen, a loving husband, devoted father, cherished son, brother, and friend. Paul peacefully departed this world on June 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Salma McQueen, and their son, Shaquille. Paul was a proud and affectionate father, a supportive and caring husband, and a constant source of strength and laughter to all who were fortunate to know him.
As a treasured son and a loyal brother, Paul nurtured every relationship with warmth and kindness. His genuine and generous friendship left lasting impressions on many, especially his lifelong friend Chris, along with countless others whose lives he touched.
The McQueen family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Hospice for their compassion and care during Paul’s final days.
In accordance with his wishes, a private cremation has taken place.
A memorial service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held on July 26 at 22 Lindisfarne Street, Invercargill, commencing at 2 pm. All who knew and loved Paul are warmly invited to come together to honour the joy, humour, and love he brought into our lives. Messages can be shared on Paul’s tribute page at www.distinctfunerals.co.nz or Flat 3/79 Alice St, Gladstone.
Though he is no longer with us in body, Paul’s spirit will live on in everyone who knew him. He will be profoundly missed, forever remembered, and always loved.

I didn’t know Paul that long before he passed away, but he was always cheerful and positive. He obviously loved his family and cats. I look forward to seeing him again at the second coming of Jesus. All tears wiped away.

Though I never had the pleasure of meeting Paul Salma, the loving way you talked about him, made me feel as if I had met him. Trevor and I are so sorry for yours and Shaquille's loss, but remember, hold on to your memories, allow yourselves to grieve, and know that one day you will be re-united in God's heavenly home and you will never be apart again..God Bless xx

I met Paul & Salma in February this year as we were all staying at Daffodil House in Dunedin. The way he approached his surgery and illness at that time I found brave, and my heart goes out to you, Salma and all those who knew and loved Paul.

Hey Paul, You fought with such courage and grace, even when cancer tried to take your light. You never let it dim your spirit or your love Salma. I will miss your presence in my life but I shall not forget our last moments together, your smile, and your warmth.
You were taken too soon, but your memory will stay with us forever. You will forever hold a special place in my heart as you looked after Salma and Shaq.
Rest in peace, with no more pain. We love you always. Until next time 🕊️🤍
