Margaret! Why didn't you tell me about your illness? I've never expected it. If I were aware of it, I would have kept in touch more often, even by texting or phone calls. I am very sorry to hear you passed away and very sad Margaret.
You were one of the closest people of mine in my life, especially in New Zealand.
I have sent messages to you several times, but there was no answer from you, so I was a little bit worried about you, but I did not expect an obituary notice.
I really miss you so much and hope you rest in peace without any pain and suffering.
I will remember you forever and let my son Eugene know about you.
I love you.

Margaret, l was hoping nothing bad had happened when l saw your house for sale. We'd lost touch for a while, but l always checked if you were home when driving past the quaint orange landmark. I then texted to ask if all was well, but there was no reply. I searched online and found the dreaded obituary. The flooding recollections of great times we've had made me realise just how much you've loved. Your generosity and hospitality towards the group of us newcomers in Invercargill were something I've never experienced before. We had such great times of potluck and games at your place, and most importantly, you genuinely cared about people. Your gifts on birthdays and Christmases were always very thoughtful, and hearty. Your heart is so big--you loved your family (we heard some awesome stories about your grandkids!), you loved the residents in the rest homes where you volunteered (you really wanted them to have fun!), you loved the students you worked with (you really tried to help them along!), and you loved us migrants (you understood our loneliness...). You took people seriously and didn't sweat the small stuff; you were accepting of people and didn't let bad experiences get to you. There's so much to learn from you. Invercargill lost a really good person. I'm reminded to pass on the kind of goodness you've shared. That's your legacy Margaret.
You appeared in my dream after l realized you'd passed. In my dream, you were just the same as l last saw you, fully present in the moment, and dressed in understated elegance. Rest in the Lord Margaret, and we will meet again, where we will have more games, more joy, more fun...

I still can vividly picture you enjoying the beach near our home in Auckland. I never imagined that sharing your birthday cake in 2023 would be our last time together. I miss you, the way you used to send me photos of the flowers blooming again each year after I gave them to you before leaving Invercargill. Love you, Margaret. Rest peacefully in the Lord.

So sad to hear of Margaret's passing. I wish I had known about her illness and could've spent some time with her at the end. Many fond memories of the Rummicub game nights she used to host at her home for an ever-changing group of pals, many of us Korean. I remember her unconventional and fun character, her keenness to help others, her passion for K-dramas, and her dear pets Schubie and Tiggah. She had a great influence on many people and will be sorely missed. (photo from Oct. 2021)

Margaret was a dear friend, over many years. We met in Leeds when we both worked for the same company. I admired Margaret's determination and approach to lifelong learning. I remember when she graduated with a degree in leisure studies. We had many happy times together and she will be greatly missed. Lots of Love,

Margaret will be dearly missed by the many students she assisted and the support staff acquaintances she made in her time as a valued JHC staff member.
To Paul, Jacqui and families, my thoughts are with you all. Donna and David Henderson.

Margaret was a delight to have as a reader/writer at Hargest Senior Campus. She took a great interest in the students she worked with, had a great sense of humour and often picked up jobs with very short notice! RIP Margaret xx
