Passed away peacefully on 31 May 2026 after a courageous journey, surrounded by love.
Loved daughter of the late Freda and Douglas Smart (Snr) and sister of the late Leslie and Douglas Smart.
Cherished mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Lorraine's kindness, generosity, strength, and caring nature touched countless lives. A devoted mother and grandmother, a cherished aunty, a treasured friend to many, and a woman whose warmth made people feel welcome, she leaves behind memories that will be held close forever. She also leaves behind her much-loved companion Odie, who held a special place in her heart.
Forever loved, forever remembered.
A service to celebrate Lorraine's life will be held at Holy Trinity Church, 61 King Street, Windsor, Invercargill, at 10:00 am on Thursday, 4th of June. All are welcome to attend.

My condolences to the mass of whanua that Lorraine gathered up in her arms. It was a shock to hear of her passing, seems not long ago we were having a laugh about bloody kids and their antics. Rest in peace🙏
