Joan passed peacefully on 24 February 2026, aged 82 years.
Loved wife of the late Carel de Reeper. Loved mother of Sharon de Reeper-Armstrong and Mark de Reeper; and mother-in-law of Jeff and Megann. Loved Oma of Brooke, Karly, Taylor, Joel, Caitlin, Joshua, Cameron, and all her great-grandchildren. Loved sister of Roger, Ken (dec), Min, and Maggie; and sister-in-law of Jos, Lin, Lindsay, and Colin.
Joan’s wishes were for no fuss or service. She also made the generous decision to bequeath her body to science. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Southland would be appreciated.
The family will be hosting an informal gathering on Friday, 27 February at 31 Hardy Street, Invercargill, from 10.00 am until 3.00 pm. Come along and share a story, have a laugh, and maybe shed a tear or two.
Messages can be left on Joan’s tribute page at distinctfunerals.co.nz

What do you say about a woman who helped raise you gave you love advise and support, always knew what to say and always had time, she laughed the best way enjoyed life to the full and always smiled at me, she gave me a few good lectures and telling off's as well but I loved and cherished all the things she did and she never forgot to message on my birthday. Hope you are partying hard listening to great music and having a sherry that fixes everything xxxx
