Hi there, my name is Katrina Andrew. I'm the eldest daughter of Barry and Geraldine Ryan Invercargill.
My family and I would like to pass on to Gordon's family how sad we were to hear of Gordon's passing. One of life's good people.
My father Barry and Gordon (cousins) often were confused for each other by other people. In fact I remember Gordon being asked how Geraldine was one time and he replied "no that's the other Ryan".
There were many similarities between Gordon and Dad and watching the livestream of Gordon's funeral proved this in many ways. We loved the celebration of Gordon's life. The family delivered their memories in such a real, engaging and humorous way, just like each person was having a yarn with an individual. Gordon would have loved it.
I have uploaded a photo of Dad, Gordon and Keith that Mum took not so long ago that we thought you might like.
Our sincere condolences to you all.
Katrina Andrew

I was the local Arthur Yates Representative from 1975-1985 based and living in Invercargill all of my life but moved to Christchurch in January 2002 and now retired in Pegasus town in North Canterbury

I called regularly on Gordon and Dorothy while they were in business in Evandale Gardens- Inner City Gardens and Rochdale Road
Gordon was such a great business man and such a pleasure to do business with along with his lovely wife Dorothy

I was lucky enough to see the livestream service for Gordon yesterday which was beautiful and brought back a lot of great memories

I would like to offer my condolences to Dorothy and family and wish you all the best during this very difficult time

My Best Regards
Bill Shaw

Taken far too soon!

I can just imagine Gordon talking about his new valve job, and his plans thereafter.
A proud family man, a true legend. With humour to match.
I worked at Town and County Gardens from late 80’s to late 90’s.
Dorothy and Gordon treated me like family.
Greatly indebted to you both.

Often though of. never forgotten.

Sorry to hear the news of Gordon’s unexpected passing!
Gordon has been a fantastic husband to Dorothy, during her health issue, We kept in contact and he always had news of the family, and was interested in our lives. Gordon was always so positive. Very sad loss for the beloved family, My thoughts are with Dorothy and their families.
