Surrounded by his family, Bill passed away after a courageous battle, leaving a huge hole in our hearts on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Cherished and adored husband of the late Coral (née Henderson).

Dearly loved husband of Dawn McDonald. Devoted and cherished Dad of Steph & Geordie Duffy, Jo & Allan Rickard, Diana Evans & Regan Thompson, and the late Michelle Mitchell.

Fun-loving and proud Grandad of Nicole & Callum, Jared & Georgia, Bradley & Debs, Annie & Tom, Bridget & Brad, Chloe, Adam & Katie, and Ben, and his great Grandchildren Poppy, Riley, Georgia, Lilly, & Fred and his great Granddaughter due to arrive. Loved brother, brother-in-law, and uncle.

Bill’s family would like to thank the staff and the oncology units at the Southland & Dunedin Hospitals for their compassion and care during his illness.

A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the Waiau Town & Country Club, Tuatapere, followed by interment at the Tuatapere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Southland Charity Hospital may be left at the service.
